Roger Butler at work in his greenhouse‘Pelargoniums, My Way’ by Roger Butler

Based in Hampshire, Roger Butler is an enthusiastic amateur who, as the title suggests, gives a talk regarding Pelargoniums, but done his way.

One of the first things he says is “this is my way of doing it. If you have a method that works for you, continue to use it”.

Roger’s talk is split into 2 halves so can easily accommodate the needs of a society who like to have a tea break half way through the evening.

The first session covers an introduction into the types of pelargonium/geraniums available – ranging from the smallest miniature to largest regal. If the season allows, this is done with live plant material. Also covered is a demonstration of how to take a cutting, information regarding watering and feeding plus other useful tips.

The second session involves a slide show using a power point presentation. Together with colourful photographs of the varieties available, there are close up images of how to take cuttings and plant hanging baskets together with other items of interest.

Talks are available at a reasonable fee in Southern England. He is well known in the Hampshire/Berkshire area.
